Ashlee Jordan Pryor is a mother, a maker, and a firm believer in the magic of being. She is the Digital Marketing & Community Manager at Art Alliance Austin and the Social Media Manager at ColdTowne Theater. In her spare time, she is the designer & creator of the eco-friendly, small batch, handmade clothing line, Crafts & Arts Clothing and does improv with her improv troupe, Lady Parts.
Virginia Cumberbatch is a communications and advocacy strategist in Austin. She is the Director of the University of Texas' Community Engagement Center (CEC), an organization founded to address the issues around social inequality through community partnerships and activities. As co-founder of Hux Storyhouse, her work gives organizations the creative tools they need to authentically engage with markets across the Black Diaspora. She is the recipient of the 2016 Anti-Defamation League of Austin Social Justice Award for her work in community engagement. Her book, As We Saw It: The Story of Integration at The University of Texas at Austin, will be published in 2018. Virginia moderated the "We ARE" film series premiere party Q&A.
Hailing from East Texas, Ashton moved to Austin in 2005. She graduated with Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from the University of Texas in 2009. For six years she worked for the American Cancer Society in Patient Services, and began creating full-time in 2015. Ashton paints, writes, illustrates, directs, and otherwise conceives of all kinds of colorful stuff from Cement Loop Studios. Counter Balance: ATX is a grassroots 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for impoverished self-identifying women and impoverished women of the global majority through policy, community-based programs, and resources.
